Why your purchase date is not the production date

A receipt is useful evidence of when you bought an item. It is not evidence of when the manufacturer produced the batch.

Keep the timeline in the right order

Manufacture, distribution, retail sale, purchase, and opening are separate events. A purchase-date mismatch with a decoded manufacture date is not enough, by itself, to establish a problem with the product.

Compare facts without stretching them

Record the selected brand, copied code, decoded date, purchase date, and any printed label. If they leave a material question unanswered, ask the seller or manufacturer rather than asking a batch code to make an authenticity or condition judgement.
